Has a soothing effect and cares for the skin, forms a protective layer

Ingredients

1 g ointment contains 100 mg zinc oxide as the active ingredient.

The other ingredient is wool wax alcohol ointment (DAB). (Wool wax alcohol ointment (DAB) contains cetostearyl alcohol, wool wax alcohols and white Vaseline.)

Application

Always use this medicine exactly as directed in this package insert or precisely as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. 

Prior to application:
Unless directed otherwise Dentinox zinc ointment for nappy rash is applied once or several times a day to the affected skin regions and covered with gauze.

Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you believe that Dentinox zinc ointment for nappy rash is not having the required effect, or if you think its effect is too strong.

Sore bottoms in babies: What is nappy rash?

Nappy rash (or diaper rash) is an inflammatory skin reaction in the nappy area of a baby. Symptoms include a rash, irritation and sometimes also pustules.

What are the most common causes for nappy rash?

Nappy rash is often caused by the skin being in contact with a damp or soiled nappy for a long time, the nappy rubbing on the skin, allergic reactions to nappy materials, or skin irritations due to faeces and urine.

What can you do to prevent your baby from getting a sore bottom and nappy rash?

Preventive measures include changing the nappy regularly, thoroughly cleaning and drying the nappy area, avoiding nappies that are too tight, and using sensitive wet wipes and breathable nappies.

What should you do if your baby has a sore bottom?

To treat nappy rash, change your baby’s nappy frequently. In addition, you can also use Dentinox zinc ointment for nappy rash, which will protect and soothe the skin barrier.

When should you see a doctor?

We recommend seeing a doctor if the nappy rash is severe, if it spreads, if it is accompanied by a fever or if it persists for more than a few days despite appropriate care and treatment at home.
