Safe change from milk teeth to permanent teeth

Strong adult teeth with nenedent Junior toothpaste

Children’s teeth are at particular risk during the change from milk teeth to permanent teeth. Our toothpaste with 1,450 ppm sodium fluoride strengthens tooth enamel and protects the new permanent teeth. A high xylitol content of 13% inhibits the growth of caries bacteria. Since the change from milk teeth to permanent teeth can also lead to gum irritation, our formulation contains D-panthenol in order to soothe and protect the gums. The fruity fresh flavour encourages children to brush their teeth regularly and keeps their breath fresh.

FAQs

From what age should my child use an electric toothbrush?

An electric children’s toothbrush can be used from an age of around 2 as long as your child is able to safely hold and guide the toothbrush. However, it is important that children’s toothbrushing should be supervised to make sure that the teeth are cleaned thoroughly and gently.

When do children get their molar teeth?

The first molar teeth (milk molars) normally erupt between 12 and 18 months. The second milk molars follow at an age from around 20 to 30 months. The permanent molars normally appear between the age of 6 and 12 years.

What can cause bad breath in children?

Bad breath in children can have various causes, e.g. poor oral hygiene, tooth decay, gum disease, dry mouth, respiratory infections or certain types of food. Thorough dental care and regular visits to the dentist can help to avoid bad breath.

What can you do to stop children from grinding their teeth?

Teeth grinding or clenching (bruxism) in small children can be caused by stress, teething pain or malpositioned teeth. We recommend consulting a dentist or paediatrician to determine the cause and find a suitable treatment if necessary. Relaxation techniques and a stress-free environment can also be helpful.

What do white spots mean on children's teeth?

White spots on children's teeth can indicate hypomineralisation (fluorosis) or demineralisation of the dental enamel. Fluorosis is caused by excessive intake of fluoride during dental development. Demineralisation can be caused by plaque and attack by acid. If white spots occur, we recommend seeing a dentist so that the cause can be clarified and suitable measures can be taken.
